To give you an idea: a 1 MW plant generating about 4,000 units a day (approx.) produces around 14.6 lakh units a year. At ₹3 per unit (approx. tariff), that is about ₹44 lakh a year in gross revenue, before loan EMIs, maintenance and other costs. Actual numbers depend on your site, tariff and financing.

Start with your local electricity office. Before anything else, speak to the Junior Engineer (JEn) of your area DISCOM and share your plant location. They can tell you whether the nearest substation can take the power. If they say the location is not suitable, tell us. We will study the options in a paid feasibility consultation.
About loans: banks do finance solar plants, and we prepare your project file and help you apply. The final approval is always the bank's decision.

Can I set up a solar plant on my agricultural land?
Yes. Solar plants can be set up on agricultural or barren land, subject to state rules on land use and grid connection. A good site is flat, free of shade and close to an electricity substation.
How much land do I need for a 1 MW solar plant?
Roughly 3.5 to 5 acres per MW, depending on the layout, module type and shape of the land.
What is PM-KUSUM Component A?
PM-KUSUM Component A is a central government scheme under which farmers and landowners set up decentralised grid-connected solar plants of 0.5 MW to 2 MW and sell the power to the electricity distribution company (DISCOM).
Is PM-KUSUM open for new applications?
The first phase of PM-KUSUM closed for new projects in March 2026. The government has announced PM-KUSUM 2.0, and its detailed guidelines are awaited. You can register your land with us and we will guide you once applications open.
I already have a PM-KUSUM Letter of Award (LoA). Can you build my plant?
Yes. We take up engineering, procurement and construction for LoA holders so the plant can be commissioned within the timeline set by your DISCOM.
Will the bank give me a loan for a solar plant?
Banks do finance solar plants. We prepare your project file and help you apply to banks, but the final loan approval is always the bank's decision.
Who handles the electricity department paperwork?
We help you with the paperwork for grid connection, approvals and agreements with the electricity department, as part of the project.
Do you charge for the feasibility study?
Checking your location with your local DISCOM office is the first step. If the location needs a detailed feasibility study, we offer a paid consultation. The charges are shared upfront.
